For the first time ever, we’re bringing a time trial to the golf course! This is your chance to race or ride your bike on the closed cart paths of Brown Deer Golf Course—a truly one-of-a-kind experience. Don’t want to race or ride? Come out and hang! We’ll have food and drink specials, music, and great community vibes.

Race & Ride Options

Register for your race/ride here! Thanks to the generous support from the Iowa City Area Sports Commission, the price is now $25 for all race and ride categories ($10 for under 17), and the USAC license fee has been waived!

**Competitive Race**
4.6 miles of winding cart paths across all 18 holes. Riders start at 1-minute intervals.

Payouts in the form of gift cards to local bike shops (per category):
1st: $100 | 2nd: $50 | 3rd: $25

2.2 miles of paved trails with quirky time trial categories and awards—including stuffed animals!

Event Schedule

• 4:00–4:50 PM – Course open for pre-riding
• 4:00 PM – Check-in opens – find out your Tee Tee Time!
• 4:00 PM–Close – Burgers, brats, and drinks for sale. 10% of all sales go to ICORR and the Iowa City Bike Library
• 5:00–7:00 PM – Competitive race
• 6:30 PM – Kids Bike Race (open to kids 10 and under)
• 7:00–8:15 PM – Fun Ride
• 7:30 PM – Competitive race podium
• 8:30 PM – Fun ride awards

Bonus Games & Time Deductions

• 🎯 Bike Bullseye – $5 for two balls | Hit the ball closest to the bike, win the bike!
• 🍻 Bottle Putt – $5 for two putts | Hit the 6-pack or bottle, take it home!
• 🏌️ Mulligans – $10 each | Max 2 per racer | Each mulligan subtracts 1 minute
• 🎟 Raffle – $20 per roll of tickets | Prizes from saddle to stem
• 🩳 Wear jorts (jean shorts) get knee to hem length in raffle tickets

Whether you’re racing to win, along for the fun ride, or simply want to hang out for some drinks, food, and cheering on the riders, there’s something for everyone! Come early and stick around after your ride for music, food, drinks, and great community vibes.

All proceeds benefit the Iowa City Bike Library and the Iowa Coalition of Off-Road Riders.
