The bike wash station is in place and ready to use. While it would work great to wash the bike after a dirty ride, the real reason is to wash off any possible Garlic Mustard remnants of the bike. The Army Corps of Engineers wants all bikes going in and coming out to wash their bike to stop the further growth of Garlic Mustard. Garlic Mustard is an invasive plant the can harm the native plants.
As a warning the old path between the kiosk and the gate is now block, so it is necessary to go through the new entry into the bike wash. Also there will be a gate (coming soon) across the bike wash entry and will be closed when the trails are closed.
