Trail Maintenace
Sunday, March 27, 9:00AM, at Sugar Bottom Road Entrance
We will begin trail work for the 2011 season on Sunday March 27. Meet at 9:00AM at the small parking area on Sugar Bottom Rd ( about 2 miles south of the Mehaffey Bridge Rd intersection). Some of the trails have been cleaned up after the winter, so we’ll be working on the remainder of the system to get ready for opening the trails when they are dry enough.
Hell Trail #204
Redesigned Trail to be Installed this Spring
During April and May this year we will be cutting in the newly designed 204 (Hell Trail) and 204 x (Becky’s Revenge) trails. Trail 204 has been closed for a year due to erosion and has been redesigned to current IMBA sustainability rules. The trail is much longer than in was and does some trips up and down the ravines that the original trail crossed more directly. It’s still hellish and has some gut wrenching climbs, but also some scenic overviews of the reservoir. Plan to come out and join in the push to get this fantastic new trail rideable by National Trails Day, Jun 4. The planned work days in April and May are April 9, April 16(Earth Day), May 7, May 29. Trails don’t just happen; people make them happen.
